This expansion perfected the formula conceived in the original, without detracting from the speed and style the expansion allows for a far diverse strategies (and also for higher scoring games, first time we played the winning score was 86! – the others weren't far behind either). This expansion is the perfect finish to an already wonderful game. A family friend introduced the original game to us, and we immediately fell in love with it, and had to get it. Along with the leaders and the cities pack, the game is a great family bonding time game and is packed with excitement, all in about 30 minutes! Really fun, not hard to learn, and is easily one of my favourite games, if not my favourite.
This game is easy to pick up; taught 6 others to play for the first time last week and had very little problems. The first game might take a little longer than the 30 minutes to play; the short game time means we can play it while waiting for others to show up for the longer games. I would recomment getting your play group used to the base game before adding the additional leaders.
What kind of Leader are you?
In 7 Wonders, players get hands of cards, pick those that will help them build their City and pass the rest to their neighbor. Their goal: build commercial ties, strengthen their military might and build their Wonders.
Leaders introduces in the game notable personalities, who offer various advantages. At the beginning of the game, players create a Leader hand from which they will be able to play a leader at the beginning of every Age, or use him to get money or help build your Wonder. The recruited Leaders will allow you to build certain structures at a cheaper cost, even maybe for free, or will be worth victory points, or… Well, with Leaders, the Wonders never cease!
