Description

Designed specifically for younger players, 101 Youth Rugby Drills is the practice bible for youth rugby coaches. It contains a range of progressive practice drills to help young players develop. Fun, educational and challenging, all drills are illustrated and cover the essential technical skills required to introduce rugby, including: - warming up and cooling down - handling the ball - running with the ball - attacking and defensive patterns. As well as easy-to-use instructions, each drill contains information on the equipment needed, the space required, how to construct a safe and effective training session and how to organise the players.

Author Biography:

Anna and Chris Sheryn are experienced coaches and work with all ages from primary school to adults in a range of sports including rugby, netball and speed and strength development. Chris works with the Lilleshall Sports Injury and Human Performance Centre, which is at the forefront of elite sport support services, sports science and injury rehabilitation, and enjoys a range of sporting activities having retired from a successful amateur rugby career. Anna currently works with teams in primary and secondary schools and a college academy. Having played at netball at county level, she still enjoys netball, playing and coaching, and is keen to continue to develop all sporting opportunities for 8 - 16 year olds.
