Description

In 1,000 Italian Recipes, Michele Scicolone offers an authoritative and engaging tribute to Italian food, one of the world's most popular cuisines. She not only spotlights favorite dishes like lasagna, pizza, frittata, and gelato (and offers a wealth of variations for each), but also shares hundreds of distinctive specialties from the hills of Piedmont, the beautiful islands of Sicily and Sardinia, and other Italian locales. Readers will be able to explore the delights of Italian food traditions through recipes for antipasti, soups, salads, and pastas, as well as meat, poultry, fish, and vegetable dishes and, of course, desserts. Scicolone also offers inspiring menus and expert advice on selecting Italian ingredients and pairing Italian wines with food. This treasury of simple dishes for everyday Italian meals and special-occasion feasts is one book home cooks won't want to be without! Michele Scicolone (New York, NY) is the highly respected author or coauthor of nine cookbooks, including the blockbuster bestseller, The Sopranos Family Cookbook. She has written for the New York Times, Gourmet, Wine Spectator, Better Homes and Gardens, and the Washington Post.
