Zombie Survival Guide reviews

Some people enjoy books about useless fantastical stories like kids going to a school for magic, or some people taking a ring to a mountain or even love triangles between a bloodsucker, a half-dog man and a socially akward teen.

These people will either die, or become zombies. You won't. Because while others are escaping reality, you're preparing for it. Don't even think about it. Buy this. Read it. Study it. Live it. And who knows- Maybe I'll see you on the other side of the zombie apocalypse.

I have only read about half of the book and I have not found any problem with it at all, It has a very funny side because even though its not funny the subject makes it funny while keeping a serious tone to it.

This book feels real and I guess if zombies where real then this would be the book to have for survival

The Zombie Survival Guide is essential reading for any who fear the Walking Dead, or just enjoy Zombie-themed entertainment. This guide book is organised for quick reference to each of its parts: zombie description, combat, defense, escape and reclaiming civilisation. The first part outlines what a zombie is, both in Max Brooke’s world and various other fictional forms. Max Brooke’s version is based on the virulent Solanum virus. Probably derived from 'Solanum Nigrum’, or 'Deadly Nightshade’. Gardeners will note that the 'Solanum’ family also includes potatoes and tomatoes… In any case, you’ll find lots of helpful advice in here for surviving the next wave of living dead that crests the horizon. You’ll also be disabused of any dangerous notions derived from 'survivor movies’ featuring hapless groups trapped in shopping malls and other high risk zones. You’ll certainly never pick up a flamethrower when a .22 semi automatic is handy. Or you might just try some moves with a sharpened shovel. It is all about kill ratios, apparently. Enjoy.

For anyone who has sat and talked at length about what you're going to do when (not IF) the zombie apocalypse hits, this book will gleefully point out every shortcoming of your plans (Hint: You'll be dead before you find an Aliens exosuit). Gets dry in some spots, but the addition of “real-life” incidents at the end, and its ability to avoid breaking belief, it's an excellent read for fun or for education.

Why didn't they teach us useful stuff like this at high school!- A great read and I was only slightly tempted to bookmark pages for later :) Might need to update my emergency surivial kit for earthquakes, tsunamis to include zombie apocalypse

If the world ever did meet its demise in the form of a zombie apocalypse, this is the book to have! Filled with what weapons to use, what safe houses to fortify and much more including the type of car down to your own zombie hunting party. This book is a must for any zombie genre fan!

I bought this thinking it would be a joke and it was someone just taking the piss and stating the obvious. It is in a sense exactly that which is why I take back my original thoughts about it and say this. Its funny because its damn true and actually quite brilliant. There are many things which come to mind when trying to figure out the best way to survive your dream zombie apocalypse. From guns blazing through your local mall destroying the dead and stores as you go to finding your best survival post and spending your last days enjoying the views in complete safety. This book seems to go between the ideas and give you bloody helpful tips! Its funny what I overlooked and didnt even think about until I read this book. Small simple ideas which I can only imagine would be damn helpful if such a event happenend! If you like zombies, or the idea of a apocalypse where humans/animals are infected with some sort of desease/virus and youre all about survial. This is a good read, even better theres PICTURES!!!! Loved the book!

If you ever wanted to know how to survive the Zombie Apocalypse this book is for you! It has heaps of information in it and things you would never think of. A must read for any Zombie fan.

Great bit of fun, I bought for my 15 year old son even though I read it first. Ideal material for getting teenage boys to read something.

I've bought this for my zombie obsessed husband for Christmas and couldnt resist a peek inside to see what was so good about it. I couldnt put it down I needed to know everything about protecting myself from Zombies, and yes I now own a machete. He'll love it!

This book has a great assortment of helpful awesome and scientific information, as well as some history and diagrams to back it up.

The undead are at your door, are you ready? If you have read Max Brook's Survival Guide you would be. This book explores everything from stage one to the fall of man and how to survive along the way. From stock piling to knowing when to run and which weapons and modes of transport to use, Brooks gives us a fully detailed description to get us through and survive.

Every aspect of a survival plan is explored and whiel geared toward the zombie invasion, it is actually useful for and end of the world/disaster scenario.

Very interesting. Quite a few flaws, but this book was more to give me ideas to help build my anti zombie arsenal, hideout, bunker and to see what other equipment I should look at getting. The zombie apocalypse is not too far away people. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

This is a great book to read! It's great that I can read this and past time and it's not boring or what you would normally expect. Worth the purchase

Having read this after reading WWZ I Loved it, recommend to any Zombie enthusiasts!

It was fun to read, read it over the space of a few days.

Must read/have for enthusiasts of the zombie genre.

Whether or not you're a zombie fanatic, this book will truly keep you thinking. From safe zones, weapons, preparation etc… After I read it, I just wanted to start preparing!

Even if your only slightly a fan of a Zombie Apocalypse this book is a must have!!!!

Very interesting and comical book.

One of the best and most in-depth survival guides you will find for the up-coming zombie apocalypse. You must have a copy of this manual and follow it closely. Well written, broken down by chapter into all the various things you need to know, what to learn, what to stock up on. Valuable tips on how to defend yourself and others from the zombies, what tools and weapons you will need. Plus much more. If you don't have this book by the time the zombies have risen, it will be too late for you.

My brother is pretty into zombies and stuff, so this was right up his alley:)

Got this for my other half and it was deemed to be THE best gift ever. Funny, intelligent, and a really good read. We now have a shopping list of things to get in case of zombie attack… Be Prepared!

Hilarious. Serious…kind of. This book takes itself seriously as an (almost) parody of zombie survival. All in all this is a great read and any zombie, resident evil, or video game fanatic should read it.

As a zombie enthusiast – from comics, to games to the whole atmosphere – I came in thinking I knew everything about the inevitable Z day.

Fortunately for me, after seeing some good reviews on this product I bought it. Just like the many reviews praising this book, all I can do is agree with them. A good read, informative and serious with the odd tongue in cheek humour.

Definitely worth the price.

As I wouldn't be surprised if the Zombie Apocalypse actually happens one day, I'm sure this book will be most useful. Max Brooks is awesome.

It is really easy to read. It is not a book, really, it's a guide, so it is quite interesting and fun. At least I will be ready when the day comes…

Received this as a Christmas gift and even though I haven't finished reading it all the way through yet I've found it to be an excellent read.

Eventually when zombies attack this book is going to be essential! Have only read the first couple of chapters and alreadu laughing!

This book is amazing. If a zombie attack were imminent I would feel prepared to tackle the challenges that arose from said attack. Super informative and the directions are easy to follow.

Also a great gift for someone who loves all things zombie.

This book was amazing! It was VERY well written and convincing at that… For awhile there it had me convinced that they have had actual zombies researched on. It was a good read and I would recommend it to other people!
