Author Biography:

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Joyce Khoury was born in 1951 and hales from New Bedford, Massachusetts, the infamous whaling town of Moby Dick. Both parents were from large families and as a child Joyce was always surrounded by friends and relatives. The youngest of three sisters she was the first of her family to go to college. Being of the baby boomer generation Joyce experienced many first time events that were causing life in America to change drastically. In 1951 the first TV made its debut into the living rooms of the American family, the first manned rocket ship went to the moon and sadly the atomic bomb was dropped on Japan. Her parents were of modest means but always resourceful and served as an example that nothing was impossible if you put your mind to it. Joyce became aware of how vital it was for everyone to contribute and help one another because there was always someone in her large family who needed assistance or a little boost. Family members, both young and old, were always ready to do their part and contribute what they could. From this deeply ingrained philosophy of service to others, Joyce developed not only a love for her profession of insurance but a real passion to truly educate and assist people of all walks of life and help them make better choices for their families and their future. It is because of her relentless passion she continues to reach out to others to shed some light on the difficult and complicated matters presented to us in our lives. Having just turned 65 herself, this past June, Joyce wants to educate her peers, baby boomers themselves, about the complicated subject of Medicare. She feels as though she can make a difference in helping people understand this important topic and how it can work in their favor as they age into the future needing more and more knowledge about their own health and how to manage it in the best way possible.
