Even on sale at $49, they are only 50c cheaper (by ratio) than buying them from the xbox directly. At normal price there is a premium for having a card.
2000 points online = $33.
Having said that, the points are essential for all that fantastic extra content you can get.
You're essentially buying MS Dollars.
However when that money is on sale, it's super awesome!
You can use them to buy all sorts of downloads off of Xbox Live. However major downloads are are always 1600 points and points only come in 1500 and 3000 point increments. It would be nicer if they provided point values that people actually need.
Whatever you want to buy, you will always have 100 points too few.
Can my son use these, I read that in NZ child accounts cant buy points or use downloadable content. Love Mighty Ape cheers
These points are essential to the Xbox Live experience. With them you can download demos, maps, add ons, extras, music and even movies. However thay are a bit pricey so be careful how you spend them. I recommend a hardrive of at least 60GB to download as much as you want.

I have recently bought this item for my Xbox 360 and the 3000 Xbox Live Points have been very cheap on Mighty Ape good work.
If you want your games to last longer, and to be more fun you have to buy a points card. And it makes your game last longer so why not!
