A great shoot 'em up war game and if set right you can never die

In a bizarre twist of fate I found myself between games and thought I would try out the newly released Wolfenstein for PS3. I had followed the hype through the various media and whilst I had not played Wolfenstein since last century I held high hopes based on my previous PS3 experiences (Assassins Creed, Drakes Unchartered, Modern Warfare, Killzone etc).

I am an excitable person and when I shakily unwrap new games with sweaty fingers I can barely cope with the anticipation! The shiny Blu-ray disc slides into the machine, the game loads and the opening film sets the scene. Up until this point all was good! Once you take control the graphics are nice but in my opinion dated (although the water was nice to look at). The game-play was stock and linear (a couple of cool boss fights), the story was reasonably entertaining but I have to say all-in-all not what I would consider up-to-scratch by today's standards. I think an interesting indicator is that I only got $55.00 on TradeMe!

Probably not a bad stocking filler when the price drops.

I grew up playing the original Escape From Castle Wolfenstein and Spear Of Destiny so for me this is like a continuation of my childhood. So things have changed and some have not. The series is still very playable but with so much more capitalising on current technology. Although I haven't been right the game as with previous series titles I look forward to seeing what lies ahead. Very good graphically and ease of use also very good tutorial for new players. Great first person shooter. Is bound to be on regular rotation on my ps3

Awesome free-roam style shooter! huge range of character customisation. One of my favourite games!

I think return to castle wolfenstien was way better for story. wolfenstien had nice graphics very nice guns, though i stuck to just basic old fashioned sniper rifle popping heads and limbs, really nice feel to the game being set in the old world wars, should be able to control cars and planes in the story mode. controls were smooth and simple, i tried playing the game online recently but had very little luck finding any servers to connect to, probably not enough wolfenstien fans out there? definitely a game to check out.

This was a good game at first but then it became a bit weird for me. Im into shoot him up games and love classics like Bioshock. But the fact you have to collect things that are hidden all over the place just to upgrade your special gifts got to me. Plus the gaps between fighting annoyed me. But all in all its an ok game, just dont expect action 24/7 in this one.

Hi there, I got this game yesterday. It's one of the most fun and intense World War 2 fantasy shooters I've played..

Single player is made by Raven and has a great story. Multiplayer needs heaps of patches though..

It has a few RPG elements in it mixed in a non linear story. Go shoot some NAZI Butt! :D
