Between three and four million Americans are estimated to suffer from glaucoma - worldwide the number of glaucoma patients climbs to near 67 million.WHAT YOUR DOCTOR MAY NOT TELL YOU ABOUT GLAUCOMA is divided into three accessible sections: Understanding the Problem, in which the myths about glaucoma are exploded and the facts are explained. The second section, Established Methods of Controlling Glaucoma, takes readers through the most common methods of treatment: traditional medication, and laser and conventional surgery. Breakthrough Discoveries, the third section, presents cutting-edge research findings and explores crucial new information on the effects of nutrition, exercise, and herbal medicine on intraocular pressure and the integrity of the optic nerve.
