Author Biography

David Garcia is the founding member of Amsterdam's Time Based Arts and creator of a number of international conferences which explore ways in which live events and public debate can be enhanced by being combined with electronic communications. Currently he is Professor of Design for Digital Cultures at the University of Portsmouth and the School of the Arts in Utrecht. Bronac Ferran is a researcher and cultural producer, previously Director of Interdisciplinary Arts at Arts Council England (ACE). She is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, where she studied English Language and Literature. She is on the UK's Government's Creative Industries and Higher Education Forum and has been a Visiting Associate at Darwin College, Cambridge. Cathy Brickwood is Programme manager of the Virtueel Platform in the Netherlands. Former founder and co-ordinator of the European Cultural Backbone, for which she wrote articles on European funding and policy in the field of new media and culture. She has also worked as a freelance translator and editor of numerous books on visual art, digital culture and media.
