In this way mischief is done to our cause which we have it not in our power adequately to repair. The false statement goes where the true statement is not permitted to enter. The calumny Spreads faster and wider than the refutation follows. The poison is swallowed where the antidote can never be administered. If all who are called upon to decide upon the correctness of our sentiments would take the proper means of judging before they decide, we should have no fears for the result. We have no reluctance in submitting our cause to a trial, and no doubt as to what the issue of the trial would be. Our anxiety, our apprehen.
