Lawrence Dolan left school at 14 years of age, and joined the Merchant Navy at 17 years of age. He travelled the world, and in his off-duty hours wrote short stories and poetry. He was successfull in having a number of both efforts published. On leaving the Merchant Navy he found himself elegible for National Service and spent twenty-three years in the Royal Military Police and visited many more countries. During those years he married and fathered three children. He continued writing short stories and offers twelve of these stories, plus a sample of poems for your enjoyment.
