Excerpt from Treaty of Peace With Germany: Report Before leaving this subject it may not be amiss to remark that Mr. Lloyd - George has recently made two important speeches express ing grave apprehensions as to 'the social and politica unrest and the economic troubles now prevalent in England. He seems to have failed to point out, however, that the ratification of the covenant of the league of nations by Great Britain had relieved the situation which he had described. He was apparently equally remiss in omit ting to suggest that prompt action by the Senate of the United States in adopting the covenant of the league of nations would immediately lower the price of beef. In reporting the treaty to the Senate for action the committee propose certain amendments to the text of the treaty and certain reservations to be attach'ed to the resolution of ratification and made a part of that resolution when it is offered.
