"Katanas versus rifles, ironclads versus wooden ships - awesome!"

Outstanding STW2 variant pitching the 19th century Japan of tradition against modern ideas and weapons. The first time you fight a naval battle with HMS Warrior versus a traditional Japanese navy you will be in awe.

"An excellent RTS game"
5 stars"

Fall of the Samurai is the first total war game to really mix both strong sword/bow and gunpowder units together, making it a very interesting game to play, and resulting in some extremely entertaining scenarios that can play out (The Last Samurai anyone-).

The historical battles are a full fledged campaign now, clocking in at around 5 hours or so (which is equivalent on its own to a modern shooter campaign) with cutscenes, custom objectives, scripted elements making these missions a lot of fun and a dynamic and differenet set of missions.

The grand campaign is much like those in the previous total war games, with some new features (like naval bombardments and railways etc) and new units.

Overall, I strongly recommend the game!

"Great Expansion to Shogun 2"

Fun with the introduction of later weaponry of the era along with first-person controls during land battles
