Just finished Tomb Raider. 32 achievements unlocked, story mode 100% complete. Truly excellent game and potentially a very positive re start to the franchise. Solid game play and visuals the whole way through. Another game latching on to the recent hunting craze going on. Not sure it was completely necessary though, but what is in a game-
I think the thing I missed most about the Tomb Raider series has been their real understanding of the Action-Adventure category. Uncharted was the closest thing we have had for some time, but the most recent installment was full of endless combat and minimal exploration. The word ADVENTURE is in the genre title for a reason Naughty Dog! We like Nathan Drake just let the world he explores be a bit more diverse and interesting in the future.
Best thing about this game is the developers really succeeded at achieving what they set out to do. This version of Lara Croft is very a believable character and the dramatic experiences of the game would probably shape someone into the seasoned adventurer she becomes. The other semi positive thing I've read about this game is that the sequels are planned and written during the design process for this game. Means we could have another series with a strong continuity… I'll remain mildly optimistic at best :)
