Description

Part of the popular “Wilson the Pug” series, which sold nearly 70,000 copies as a hardcover in the early 2000s. First time in paperback. The smaller trim size will make a great gift book—the popularity of pugs as a favored dog breed has soared 170 percent since 2005, which should only increase sales from the original series. Vox magazine said of the publics’ pug infatuation: “The pug doesn’t need to play the piano or clumsily fall off the table. It wins love simply by having a lot of extra skin and a smushed face.”

Author Biography:

Wilson the Pug was a direct descendant and lineage bearer of Pug-tzu, companion of the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu. The latter has been widely credited with authoring the Tao Te Ching. Wilson lived in Berkeley, California, where he found much tolerance for his Taoist canine American lifestyle. Wilson crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2014. Nancy Levine is a veteran dog photographer and writer. Her book Homer for the Holidays won the prize for Best Humor Book of the Year from the Dog Writers Association of America. Her one-woman show Leaving Scarsdale workshopped at the HBO Workspace, and her commentaries have been broadcast in the Bay Area on NPR affiliates. Originally from Scarsdale, New York, Levine now resides in Marin County, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
