Description

When it appeared that Union General McCellen would take the Confederate capital of Richmond, Virginia, Confederate Intelligence came up with a plan to defend the city using repeating rifles. The only problem was, the rifles were sitting on a train in Baltimore, Maryland. Secret agent Samantha Goode devises a plan to capture the train load of rifles. A Confederate railroad engineer, John Guthrie, and three men are assigned to go behind Union lines to steal the train and drive it through to Richmond.Union Intelligence uncovers the plot and works to capture the thieves as they pass through Alexandria on their way to Richmond. Will they make it in time to stop the rifles from getting into Union hands?

Author Biography

Joe Freitus and his wife Anne are New Englanders living in Williamsburg, Virginia. Joe is a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a teacher for 30 years before retiring. In addition to writing fiction and non-fiction history Joe works for the motion picture industry. Joe has written and published 15 books.
