Author Biography

Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870) was the son of Napoleon's famous general Dumas. A prolific author, his body of work includes a number of popular classics, including The Count of Monte Cristo (1845) and The Man in Iron Mask (1850). Richard Pevear, in collaboration with his wife, Larissa Volokhonsky, has produced acclaimed translations of Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Gogol, and Bulgakov. He lives in Paris, France.
