She grew up with one brother and one sister in the New York suburbs and experienced a normal childhood. Upon entering high school, her love for creative writing blossomed and she found herself writing stories about teenage life, fantasy worlds, and young adult experiences that her friends enjoyed reading about over lunch in the school's cafeteria.
