Description

Freeman was a British writer of detective stories, most featuring the medico-legal forensic investigator Dr Thorndyke. He used his early experiences as a colonial surgeon and the Dr Thorndyke stories involve genuine, though often arcane, points of scientific knowledge from areas such as tropical medicine, metallurgy and toxicology. This novel, adapted from an earlier short story, was first published in 1912.
