This is a very good game, but not as good as you might expect from my previous, euphoric preview. The first things you notice are the sub par graphics, tacky control scheme, and buggy audio.

Having said that, the next thing you are bound to notice are the things you can do. The combos you can unleash are undoubtably the best in a game. When they said that whatever you see Neo do in the movies you can do in this game they werent kidding. The simplest combos in this game resemble what a series of combos would look like in any other game – this should give you a good idea of the scope of movement.

I have by now completed game and put in a good number of hours and what for the longest time felt like a very bad control mechanism now seems extremely effective. As soon as you truly get used to it, you are a god in this game. Using the environment in your attacks becomes a common occurence (jumping off walls right into enemies, throwing an enemy into anything solid, grabbing an enemy and flying him into the ceiling or other enemies etc) as is linking up multiple enemies around you (Ive done as many as 4) and attacking them with one movement (split kicks, roundhouse kicks, tieing enemies up by their limbs etc)

Seeing Neo do the things he does in this game makes up for the bad graphics – the combat animations are astounding. As you become immersed in the story the audio problems seem to disappear – and this game has to have one of the best endings ever. Im not going to spoil it, but in all my years of gaming the single best moment in a game happens in this one.
