Author Biography:

Jean-Jacques von Allmen (29.07.1917-) is Professor of Practical Theology in the University of Neuchatel, and was formerly Pastor of the Reformed Church in Lucerne. In 1962 he chaired the conference which founded Societas Liturgica. Born in Lausanne, educated at Basle and Neuchatel and ordained in 1941, he has directed his studies towards the life of the church as seen in its use of the Scriptures and of Preaching.
