Description

Paths and lives collide when vacationing friends, a young mother fleeing for her life, an angry killer seeking revenge, and hired gunmen all converge on the quaint resort island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico, and all become targets for murder. All of them are there because of an event months earlier when Adam and Maria report a hijacked sailboat to the U.S. Coast Guard and The Bahamas authorities. Carlos Montoya lost a multimillion-dollar shipment of heroin and cocaine because of that incident, as told in, To Set A Prisoner Free, the first novel of the Liberer series, and now he wants revenge. But, because of that loss, he has become a liability to his bosses and they want him eliminated. He pursues Adam and Maria, but he finds he and his family are pursued by determined assassins as well. His clever plan for quick revenge and escape fails, and he must turn to international kidnapping and a dangerous sea voyage in a small sailboat to escape his own killers. Hannie and Jason, sailing friends left behind on Isla Mujeres, investigate Adam and Maria's disappearance and cross paths with the assassins sent to kill Carlos. That encounter yields a valuable clue to where Carlos has taken their friends. Though it almost costs them their lives, it shows them their dependence on God and firms their commitment to serve Him. Adam and Maria survive Carlos' anger and threats, and even save his life while held captive. Carlos suffers a devastating loss and his escape plan fails. Yet, he comes to trust Adam, listens to his testimony, and accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Carlos's life is changed; yet, he must still deal with the consequences of his actions. And, he is still a target for his assassins, who manage to find and kill him just before rescuers arrive.
