Description

When Pete Chandler, an investigator for the US Export/Import Bank, receives a call for help from an old friend and colleague at the bank who works in South America, Pete drops everything to go. Before he can get there, his friend dies in a freak accident---he falls out of a tourist ride into a deep river gorge. As Pete digs into the mystery of the death, he discovers his friend has been living a double life that has pulled-in South American law enforcement and Chinese gangsters. Pete becomes the target of forces that assume he was part of the friend's crimes. Now Pete must fight for his own survival in a race that leads to the heights of the Andes Mountains, Machu Picchu, and the secrets of the ancient Incas.

Author Biography:

My grandmother introduced me to crime mysteries by giving me a Sherlock Holmes novel when I was ten---I've been hooked ever since! Maybe that's what led me into 30+ years working as both a prosecutor and Public Defender. I have tried jury trials from misdemeanors to murders and have seen crime from every possible angle. Six of my books have been published along with a collection of short stories. I have three different series: a female prosecutor, Zehra Henning, a private criminal defense lawyer, Ted Rohrbacher, and an investigator for the U.S. Export/Import bank, Pete Chandler---who travels to crime scenes in many exotic locations around the world. I also play the saxophone in a jazz group and a rock band. Married for for 30+ years, I also have two adult children.
