As to argument A fairly equivalent English metre can surely be found, though it be not the identical metre a metre, I mean, which suits the subject, which produces the same sort of pleasant impression as the original. All will not agree as to what particular English metre best represents this or that Greek one; but we need not therefore despair and reject metre altogether.
