Lionel Aggett is one of Britain's best-loved and most successful contemporary artists. His views of atmospheric landscapes in Italy, France and Spain, have received international acclaim. In this superbly produced book, Lionel comes home to the county where he was born and has lived all of his life - a celebrated artist celebrating the magnificent county of Devon. Devon is a land of contrast and we explore through the artist's work, rugged Dartmoor and the more rounded Exmoor, the delightful soft but densely populated South coast, and the wilder more remote North coast. There are also studies from his delightfully positioned house and studio, looking towards Whitestone and Dartmoor. Lionel Aggett, exhibits with many galleries throughout the country and is author of four other books. He has contributed to seven other titles, as well as articles for several art magazines, and his works have been reproduced as limited editions by Solomon and Whitehead, and with the Robertson Collection as high quality cards. He is a member of both the Arts Club, London and the St Ives Society of Artists, and gives lectures and demonstrations to art groups and societies.
