An impressive chronicling of the lead up to ourTreaty. The inclusion of full source documents rather than edited/biased parts thereof allows the reader to draw their own conclusions regarding our awesome heritage. A “Must Read” if you ever wondered, “Have we been told the whole story-”
This book, referencing extensive historical documentation, puts the treaty and a lot of other historical decisions taken, back into the context of the time in which they occurred. It simply produces the evidence in an objective and easy to follow way and reminds us there are two sides to every story and many modern conversations and decisions lack the clarity and objectivity provided by this book.
In 2 years NZ will celebrate its bi-centenary. It is scary to read a book like “The Great Divide” and see how much the true history of this Country has been manipulated, twisted and re-written. Sorted a lot of questions through and the author came up with some surprising answers to what alternative other statements have been made.
