They were green from base to summit, and, while very pleasant to look at, did not suggest any great wealth or variety of plant life. The streamlets meandered peacefully down their sides, and did not rush precipitately through those rocky gorges, fringed with vegetation and green with mosses, which elsewhere so often bring joy to the heart Of the expectant botanist.
