Description

Estate sales hold a promise of finding treasures among a myriad of items for sale; bits and pieces of people's lives collected through the years and enjoyed over decades of living. The cliche, you can't take it with you, begs the question, "What is the true value of anything?" There may be objects at an estate sale that were found through travels, a perfect piece of art created from nothing, or decorative jewelry. Mary Ludwig, longtime resident in the King William district of San Antonio, Texas, knew she didn't have much time left. Her desire to leave a legacy spurs her on to plan a most intriguing estate sale. She enlists her friend and caregiver, Emily Tucker, to carry it out after her death. Eight people who attend the sale come to discover God's hand and Mary's legacy woven into the items they purchase, and they find their lives changed forever.

Author Biography

An avid journal writer and lover of estate sales, June Chapko enjoys helping others discover treasures in both. Journals speak about the past and how a life was lived while estate sales attempt to pass on the legacy of those who went before us through the things they accumulated. June's curiosity with estate sales prompted her to create this estate sale of the century, a fictitious sale which changed her during the writing. Though June has written several Bible studies, many devotionals, and has been published in Mature Living, Quilt World and other publications, The Estate Sale is her first novel with two more to follow in the Legacy Series. June is a certified teacup indulgent, never passing up a chance to add to her collection. A wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, June is also a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, Advanced Writers and Speakers Association, and Christian Writers of Southeast San Antonio. She and her husband, Nick, reside in San Antonio, Texas.
