Description

Excerpt from The Englishman's Hebrew and Chaldee Concordance of the Old Testament, Vol. 1: Being an Attempt at a Verbal Connection Between the Original and the English Translation, With Indexes, a Lost of the Proper Names, and Their Occurrences, Etc Testament, will anticipate that other and important ad vantages are likely to result. To explain very briefly the plan adopted, the work is divided into three parts: Part I. Contains, in alphabetical succession, all the Appel letivos in the Hebrew and Chaldee Bible. Immediately after each Hebrew or Chaldee word, follows the series of passages in which it occurs; with the quotations in the language of the authorised English translation, and in its order of books. Italic letters mark the word or words in English which correspond to the Hebrew or Chaldee word. The citations are sufficiently full, to enable any one moderately acquainted with the English Old Testament to recall the context. Part II. Is an Index shewing, under each Hebrew and Chaldee word, the variations of the English translation. Part III. Is an Index, to enable the English reader to turn any English word into that which corresponds to it in Hebrew.
