Author Biography:

CHRISTOPHER BRYANT is Professor of Sociology and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Media and Social Sciences at the University of Salford. His publications include, as author, Positivism in Social Theory and Research (1985) and as co-editor with David Jary, Anthony Giddens: Critical Reassessments and Giddens' Theory of Structuration. - DAVID JARY is Research Professor at Staffordshire University and Visiting Professor at Birmingham University where he is co-ordinator for sociology. He is co-editor with Christopher Bryant of Anthony Giddens: Critical Reassessments and Giddens' Theory of Structuration.
