Then the leaders of the people spoke unto certain of their number who were Scribes of much repute, saying: Take ye up this burden for the sake of the love which is in you for the temple and its people. And the Freshmen answered in the vulgar tongue of their kind, calling to each one, '1' Yea, of a truth it is up to thee! But the Scribes answered not the call of their people, but walked far into the back corner of the temple ahd sat down.
