Author Biography

David McCue was born in North Cheshire. After attending grammar school he spent his national service in the Sudan and Ethiopia, and on active service in Egypt. In 1959 he returned to Africa, joining the Northern Rhodesia Police Force. Developing a keen interest in sudden, violent and unnatural deaths, he worked in Choma and then Livingstone as a detective assistant inspector. It was this work that inspired him to write 'The Bodies Man'. In 1967 he retired from his position as Detective Chief Inspector in charge of CID Lusaka Central and returned to England. David gained a degree in education at Manchester University, married and spent the remainder of his working life teaching in the largest junior school in Trafford, where he was quickly promoted to deputy head teacher. In 1994 a specialist informed him that he had less than nine months left to live. He retired from teaching, but obviously he is still here!
