Description

Ba Jin was one of China's most influential and prolific Chinese authors. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1975 for his masterpiece Family. He wrote over 80 books that made him famous in China and throughout the world.

Author Biography:

May-lee Chai is the author of Glamorous Asians (University of Indianapolis Press, 2004), My Lucky Face (NY: Soho, 1997), and coauthor with her father of a family memoir The Girl from Purple Mountain (N.Y.: St. Martin's Press, 2001), which was nominated for the National Book Award. She is a former reporter for the Associated Press and has taught creative writing at the University of Colorado-Boulder and San Francisco State University. She received a Master's Degree in English-Creative Writing from the University of Colorado.
