I was initially unsure if I would like these books, then I started reading them. The story flows off the pages seamlessly and it was difficult to put each book down. The main characters gain depth and insight with each experience they go through and so does the reader, developing more of an understanding as to why they react as they do. I would recommend this series to all those who love the Pern series, these dragons are more fully developed with character and add essential depth to storylines that were glossed over in pern.
