Author Biography:

Michelle Fox is a CPA who loves to help small business owners understand what the numbers mean and why they are important. She says, "To many small business owners the "accounting" is a mystery and can be intimidating. I feel like I'm being helpful when the light comes on and my clients begin to understand their numbers and what they are saying about their business." Michelle enjoys being a proactive CPA. She says, "I enjoy meeting with my clients more than one time a year. I'm eager to help them reach their business and personal goals. My goal is to be more than their 'tax person, ' I want to be a true partner in helping them succeed." "Information is power. Too often when we are faced with a subject that appears too difficult to understand, we'll just put it aside and hope it all works out. I want to give people information that makes them ask questions and want to know more." Michelle grew up in Pinehurst, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from The University of Akron. After graduating, Michelle began her career with a CPA firm in Akron, Ohio and obtained her CPA license. She continued her public accounting career in Atlanta, Georgia, where she quickly found a passion for forensic accounting. She became certified by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and later became certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) under the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Shortly after becoming certified, Michelle opened Fox & Company in Woodstock, GA so that she could practice accounting in her no-nonsense, proactive style. Michelle is passionate about her family and her community. She and her husband, Malcolm, have two adult daughters and several rescued pets. Michelle enjoys reading, crocheting, and traveling with Malcolm to areas of historic interest. She is also very active in supporting a number of non-profits including The Hope Center in Woodstock, GA, Noah's Ark in Locust Grove, GA, and Watermarke Church.
