This d.v.d series live up to its older series with a hint of good old fashion fun ,im looking forward to series two

Everyone is older now and Granville has taken over running the shop as he inherited it from his Uncle but there is a large pic of Arkwright in the kitchen with a checky grin as if he was still there in spirit.

Because we enjoyed Open all Hours, when we heard that a new series called Still open all hours had been made we bought season one and we were not disappointed, we look forward to series two

Open All Hours is a timeless comedy classic, but can they carry on the magic without the irreplacable Ronnie Barker- Without Barker it is a little different, so its not quite the mixture as before. Some new characters, some old making a welcome return. Granvile has (finally) matured and grown into his late uncle's stingy, calculating ways, whos spirit possibly now resides in the vicious, money grabbing tilll. All in all a fitting tribute to the orignal, chock-full of laconic northen humour, where women rule with iron rolling-pins and men snatch whatever small victories they can. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!

Bought it not expecting it to be anything spectacular being a spin off from the first series, so to speak, but it blew me away completely. Certainly the remaining cast are older but just as good value, even better than before. Mavis, Granville's love interest in the first series, is back with her older sister who looks after Mavis' love interests & wards her off men. Even Tim Healy who plays Dennis Patterson in Auf Wiedersehen Pet puts in a solid performance as Gastric. All in all the new cast members compliment the old cast members to gel the show into one of the UK's best sitcoms in recent times. Looking forward to Season two.

This is a great comedy to watch carry on from the old days of Arkwright & Granville . Good to also see some of the original characters from the cast of Open All Hours still makes you laugh a good way to wind down & relax .

Didn't stop laughing all through this DVD. It brought back many previous forgotten things about the original series. Good to see all the old faces. David was always funny in his own right, but his uptakes on Ronny's old ways was exceptional.

We have loved this charming and funny continuing story of Arkwrights corner shop , with all those much loved character . Even with Arkwright himself gone to the great grocery shop in the sky, he still plays a big part in this story.
