Description

This is a book of prose/short poems that date back with 'Flowers' to 1987. Many of these are personal and or deal with my insights, perceptions, and views at the different periods of time right up to 2009. Some were composed during dark, difficult times and some are just a creative expression like 'Old man at the bar'. A few were meant to reach out to people to try to change how we see each other and not repeat the violence in our human history e.g. 'Blood on their sword.'Poetry is a very powerful way to explore subjects, a tool to deal with emotions, and an aid to the healing process. It can also be nonsensical. I can still recall poetry from secondary school studies written very simply, but cleverly, that it has remained with me. I hope my book inspires you the reader. One of my very first poems was written when I was ten years of age and goes like this: On that Christmas nightthere was a shining light, a light from a bright starand the wise men said 'ah, on this Christmas daywe have come to wish the King a happy birthday."Several of my poems were put on www.poetry.com where all went on to receive the editor's pick award and published annually in their book of poets/authors and poems.
