Y., 1889 The work of this division for the present year, so far as the division has any special relation to the Experiment Station, has been devoted wholly to the investigation of the diseases of plants. This work has been carried on by Assistant Professor Dudley, and the results have in part been embodied in one of the bulletins of the Station devoted to the diseases of the strawberry plant. In the organization of the department with reference to Station work, it was thought that, in addition to the special subject above mentioned, some facts of a more general nature and of minor im portance might occasionally be brought out in the ordinary work ing of the department as a department of instruction in the Uni versity, which might possess some interest in their bearing upon agricultural pursuits. A few notes of this kind have been pre pared for one of the Station bulletins but it should be mentioned that the Station has been to no expense whatever in connection with the experiments on which these notes are based.
