Description

All three of these thrilling time-slip adventures are based in or around Sheffield, where Theresa Tomlinson lives now. Scavenger Boy tells the story of Michael's stumble into the past one snowy day, back two centuries where he encounters the weavers of the cotton mills and their children, and becomes involved in their struggle to survive. In The Night of the Red Devil, Sam makes two amazing discoveries on a boring holiday in Whitby which draw him into an incredible adventure back to the past. And Stevie and Jenny get involved in an exciting journey in time in Meet Me by the Steelmen, when they find something strange about the three great steel statues in Sheffield's Meadowhall Shopping Centre.

Author Biography:

Theresa Tomlinson's first title to be published was The Flither Pickers, which was followed by The Water Cat, The Secret Place, Riding the Waves (commended for the Carnegie Medal in 1991), The Rope Carrier, Haunted House Blues, Night of the red Devil and Meet Me by the Steelmen (commended for the Carnegie Medal in 1998). All of Theresa Tomlinson's books are set in the north of England - many of them on the north-east coast, an area around which she travelled extensively as a small child.
