Author Biography:

Martin Doornbos is Emeritus Professor at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands, and Visiting Professor of Development Studies, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda. Wim van Binsbergen is Associated Senior Researcher at the African Studies Centre, Leiden, the Netherlands, and Emeritus Professor of the Foundations of Intercultural Philosophy, Philosophical Faculty, Erasmus University Rotterdam.
