"Razer Diamondback is the SHIZZ"
5 stars"

I can not believe how smooth this mouse is to use. I thought that I'd take a punt on a gaming mouse to see if it really could improve my gameplay, before now I've just used your standard DSE jobbi – I WILL NEVER GO BACK.

With the Razer Diamondback plasma my kill ratings in Battle Field have improved overnight! The buttons are easy to use, having a variety of commands at your fingertips makes a massive difference.

Its always live function means that you are never caught napping, there is zero lag time so when you need to spin around in a hurry to pop the guy who snuck up behind you at least you have a fighting chance.

The ergonomic contour of the mouse is exceptional, fitting snugly and comfortably into the palm of your hand.

If you are serious about gaming, then you can not afford to pass this mouse up.

This was a great mouse… I used it until it died

"Yeahhhhh, nah - OK but not great"
2 stars"

Bought this mouse after my logitech G5 broke. Didn't like it at first and still don't like it now. Tried to get used to it but just doesn;t work for me. Firstly, the mouse is too small for my hand, I've got quite big hands. Secondly, the underside of the mouse curves inwards which sucks for me because I like to grab my mouse tightly at the base for quick flicks when gaming as I used to do with my G5; this mouse forces me to hold it lightly at the top if you get what I mean, I now suck at CS because of this. Lastly, just my own preference again, the mousebuttons are too slow for me, they're not as responsive as my G5 I used to have, I was forced to slow down aiming and quickfiring. Other than that, normal browsing on the net etc was ok. If you don't need super quick response and don't hold your mouse tight – this mouse will be great for you, especially at this price.

"The Right Price"

The top main buttons are nice and non-slip textured, and slightly concave making them very comfortable for my main fingers. However, the bottom of the mouse angles in rather than out, which makes it uncomfortable for the rest of my hand, probably making it feel too slim. The side buttons are in the wrong place – the left ones are passable, but the problem with the right ones is that they would have been better lower down, so that the third or fourth fingers could have naturally used them. It's almost like they thought up the right buttons at the last minute to add it to the features list.

Conclusion – you want a precise mouse with a cool look – go with this. It's only worth the sale price of $49. There are better mice out there if you want more accessible buttons or a more comfortable overall feel. I don't regret buying it, but I've given up on using the side buttons altogether.

"Great mouse at a fantastic price"

I originally looked at a Razer Krait but for such a cheap price I went with the Diamondback. I use the mouse for everyday activity as well as gaming and have yet to find a fault doing either. If you're switching from a basic standard mouse you'll really notice how much nicer it can be to use a decent mouse. The mouse is much smoother and far more accurate with the added bonus of being more comfortable.

There are a couple of small problems for me. The light from the mouse can be a little bit distracting if you're playing in a totally dark room and use your fingertips rather than your palm to move the mouse. The side buttons have small bumps to let you know where the buttons are but I find these a tad irritating. Other than that it's great.

If the price wasn't so good at $49.95 (down from $99.95) I would've gone for a Krait which hovers around the $70 mark but I'm more than happy with this mouse.

The reliability so far (I've only had it for a day) seems fine but the design of the mouse itself I already dislike, the long thin shape is just not really good as well as having 2 identical side buttons, its hard to reach the ones on the right side making them useless, and you can't assign forward to the second button on the left, making that button pretty much useless, the right and left main buttons (big ones) are a little large but thats not always a bad thing, I think I preferred my Fatal1ty mouse (now thats saying something for a brand thats bad, hes a sellout if you ask me), at least the right button was easy to reach (right beside the right (menu) button, and the design is to fit comfortably in your hand and it has adjustable weights and speeds (small button below the wheel), I would not recommend this to a friend, The Logitech MX/G series or Fatal1ty (mouse only, not the other hardware) is what I would.

Ive owned the mouse for 2.5 years and i've never had any problems with it, ive used it under xp and vista on 3 of my computers and it works great on all of them

"Dissapointed with reliability"

As far as mice go it's quite good. The left hand buttons are a bit hard to use (for right handers)but allow it to be used in either hand. Overall as far as a gaming mouse goes it's very good.

However I was dissapointed with it's reliability. That being that I have owned this mouse for 10 months and the right click no longer works properly. I expect at least a year out of something that costs this much. My friend has the same model and after roughly 7 months of use his randomly lost power when you were useing it. Also sometimes when you boot you computer it doesn't recognise the mouse is inserted and you have to re-plug it in wearing out its gold coating on the usb plug. It's also damned hard to get the drivers working but once they work it goes good.

So overall good mouse but doesn't stand the test of time well.
