Author Biography:

Curtis (Curt) Smith is a retired American Baptist clergyman/organization consultant, who lives in Mukilteo, Washington, just north of Seattle. Born and raised in southeastern Iowa, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, his Master of Theology degree from the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, California, and his Doctor of Ministry degree from the School of Theology in Claremont, California. He is an Army veteran having served in Korea (1955) and later in Vietnam as a military chaplain (1967-'68). Following 15 years of traditional parish ministry and service in the chaplaincy, he taught management education and organization development for Verizon, taking an early retirement in 1993, and then beginning his writing career. In addition to writing he enjoys photography and volunteering as a literacy tutor. In addition to Random Thoughts, he has self-published a number of books including his first novel, The Incident. His articles have been published in various management journals such as Quality Digest, Manage Magazine, and the Journal for Quality and Participation. He has also written articles for The Journal and Northwest Primetime newspapers. Curt is a free-thinker, who explores ideas beyond traditional boundaries. He is also a respected teacher, consultant, counselor, and facilitator.
