"Holy Grail of soccer games"
5 stars"

Wow – how has this one slipped under the radar. Have you ever wanted to play a game of soccer games and feel in total control of the plays yet remain slightly frustrated by the fact you generally only control one player at a time?

This game blows all other soccer games out of the water. You know have total and complete control over your whole team. With the flick of the Wii remote you can send players wherever you want – and have them run on to passed balls with pin-point precision.

It's such a gratifying experience to score a goal – and so far for myself, no two goals have yet been scored the same way.

I haven't played this with two players yet but I imagine it will be magic.

Got to try this one. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Excellent game. PES 2008 takes an entirely new approach to controlling the game of football and it works superbly. Play the beautiful game the way it is supposed to be played.

If you want to play a football game that allows you to truly direct all of your players and chain together dozens of passes with ease then this is the game for you.

This is not a ‘waggle fest’ but instead uses the infrared pointer to allow you to click and drag your players about the screen.

The control scheme is truly revolutionary and can only be used on Wii.

With the Pro Evolution Soccer series renowned for its fluid, realistic gameplay, the new game builds on the implementation of Teamvision with additional key advances. As with previous releases since its inception in 1996, the ball is again treated as a separate entity, with the timing of shots entirely down to the player, while the new AI ensures that defenders work to close down space and block efforts on goal. Similarly, distribution of passes works along the same lines, with players using the space available to them to switch the ball. Close control has also been enhanced with more control when dribbling the ball, and a number of subtle moves added to bypass defenders and move the ball into space.

  • Improvement on ball physics, passing and ball dribbling
  • New Teamvision AI
  • New animations
  • Set-pieces improved, with control over the position of the defensive wall
