Postmodernism by Andrew M Butler
Sorry, this product is not currently available to order

The only book to approach postmodernism in an easy-to-digest fashion (best enjoyed whilst listening to Finnish-Hindi fusion blues and eating a hamburger in Red Square), the ideas of leading theorists such as Jean-Francois Lyotard, Jean Baudrillard and Fredric Jameson, the brave new virtual world of postmodern science fiction, and the intersection of feminism and postmodernism are all explained and examined. A range of books, films, artists and TV series are discussed from the point of view of postmodern aesthetics, and arguments against postmodernism are explored.

Author Biography

Andrew M Butler is co-editor of Vector, lectures in film and media studies at BCUC and is the author of Pocket Essentials on Film Studies, Philip K. Dick, Terry Pratchett and Cyberpunk. Bob Ford tries to avoid teaching in York and in his spare time worries that his affect has waned.
