PS4 PRO 1TB Console previews

I would pre-order in a heartbeat if it supported 4K blue-ray. But unbelievably it does not play 4K blue-ray movies. So for now I will carry on with my non-pro PS4 as there is for me, little to no benefit in upgrading.

This looks like a great upgrade to the PS4 and I have pre-ordered since I am a sucker for new technology. I am quite surprised and I must admit a tad disappointed that there is no mention of 4K Blu Ray support. I hope that is an oversight and is onboard. I also thought that the PS4 Pro would come with at least a 2TB HDD out of the box, just like the latest Xbox One S has, but I see it has only 1TB and 1TB for me isn't nearly enough space, so it looks like I will have to source out a 2TB 2.5"HDD just like I did with my vanilla PS4(more expense). Apart from those few gripes the console looks great & I look forward to it.

More powerful machine, but unfortunately doesn't have 4k Blu-ray support which is a huge downer for me. Since this machine targets 4K users its kind of dumb.

My wallet was ready to throw money at Sony until i learned that there was no 4k Blu-Ray disk support. Why-! Just Why-! SOny pioneered the Blu-Ray with the PS3, why not do the same with the PS4 Pro- The standard of internet provision world wide is more up and down than Donald Trump! On the positive side the new controller come with USB connectivity instead of just charging through USB. An absolute godsend feature for pro gamers. BUT…still no official “Elite” controller release.

A 1TB Hard drive for a console catered towards the hardcore gamer is way too small that would be full within a year. It should have at least 2TB.

With all that the others have saidwhich is true, there are two omissions people are either not aware of or have forgotten. 1-This baby uses 310 watts max to run compared to the original that uses 100 or so watts and the slim that uses just under that. 2– The biggest problem is this pro uses HDR10, and to put it in layman's terms if you have a 4k TV you think you would be O. K., not so you will get an enhanced picture, BUT brands like LG etc use Dolby pro logical, (yes it applies to picture as well as sound) and this is not what this baby runs on. To put it simply, if you don't own a Sony or Samsung 4k TV, you are wasting your time, as these are the only two OEMs of 4k led TV that use the HDR10 setup. So be aware people. It's a nasty marketing ploy, and one I am sure the other manufacturers will eventually address. Also with Sony not supporting Mods for Skyrim and Fallout, we are not supporting them.

Oh no, no 4K bluray support- Wah Wah. Netflix streams in 4K, and plays 4K downloads so not a problem here. Digital media is the future. The PS4 Pro will also improve VR processing, making the PSVR even more impressive. Having a “Pro” mode for selected titles will be amazing for those who really appreciate the finer things in gaming. And have you seen how many 4K Blurays are available- Not many.

People complaining this doesn't have 4k blu-ray support seem to be missing the fact that this is barely more expensive than the Xbox one S despite the more than double performance and ability to play games at much higher resolutions. If you want 4k blu ray, get an xbox one S. If you want 4k gaming, get the PS4 pro. If you want both, stop being poor and buy both.

Couldn't care less about no 4k bluray player, I buy it for the gaming experience, and since I am upgrading to a 4k TV next month… This has come at the right time =D

I've been wanting to buy a PS4 for a while now, when I heard the rumours that Sony was going to come out with a more powerful console, I decided to wait to buy one till it came out. When I watched the reveal I was glad I did wait, the console looks great and has some great features that will look great on 4K tvs. I bet it has to be seen to be believed, sure it is lacking a 4K blue ray player, but personally I don't mind that as I only stream video or play games through game consoles. The only thing that disappointed me is that the storage is only 1TB it should have been 2. I just hope Sony will allow you to hook up an external hard drive or at the very least have the hard drive easily accessible so you can swap it for a 2TB hard drive without hassle. Still I am very excited and can't wait to play games on it. :)

Can't wait for this New PS4 PRO. Looks like the real deal with all new graphics and stuff it looks very promising! November 10th here we come!!!

Up-scaling to 4k isnt true 4k.People who say they don't mind not having a 4k player don't seem to realize how else would you play a 4k game or watch something in true 4k-Streaming 4k is fine if you have a week to download it . It's really only slightly better than an PS4.

I cannot wait for this! Too be honest, I have never watched a Blu-ray movie in any of my PlayStations as I only use them to play games, so im not really fussed about it not supporting UHD Blu-ray. Im picking up Playstation VR on launch day, so ill definitely be picking one of these up if it runs VR better than the current PS4, unfortunately however im unable to afford one this side of Christmas, but will definitely pick one up in the new year.

It should come with a 2TB at the minimum though as 1TB will not take long to fill.

Honestly guys sell your current ps4 now and games etc save the money that you would spend on this new one and build a PC that can play games at textures this “4k gaming console” can't do its a lie unless you count upscaling as a real alternative which it sadly isn't this console has nothing new to offer.

This is the best, most powerfulish console ever released in the history of ever! If you want a console that plays plays games all of the day bro then you need this! 4K HDR for the nerds amirite xD…

Was getting a bit green eyed looking at PCs, but this tips it back to staying with consoles for me. 4k and HDR will make a big difference, also hope it adds a bit more detail to PSVR. Pre-ordered!

just got my ps4 2 years ago, outdated already. This is a dick move by Sony to compete with the Xbox One S (which is technically a better machine), once again screwing the customers that supported them by buying the original ps4. Now they want us to buy a 4k TV on top of a new console which has nothing but better graphical fidelity. If they think i'm buying a VR kit, a new console and a new tv this year they got another thing coming. This wont sell well, they should have waited and just released a PS5 in two years, which they will anyway. Don't believe the hype, 4k isn't even really a thing yet, its a boutique item for framerate and graphics hipsters . Games are what matter and this won't change anything about games. Forget this thing, just buy a PS VR for the PS4 you already have.

Sony told us why we don't need an UHD player – we can stream 4K movies from their store. Neo GAF have schooled us that Sony's version of 4K is actually more professional than native 4Kand gives a better output with HDR. So Lets just buy it anyway and show our support, because Xbox users are stuck at 720p-900p LOL

The design of the ps4 pro looks really modern with the shape of it and the how there are slits in the side of it, the slanted edge is the icing on the cake though.

I just can't wait for this Pro to be released all I hear is bad reviews for the ps4 and the Xbox one so please hurry up cos I'm dying over here in NZ

LOL. Every one complaiming about no 4k drive for 4k blueray. Hello people we are lucky it has a drive at all. I never buy games on disc and why, the only benefits in having a disk is on selling it. Online streaming and download games are the future. The only ppl making money on game disks are shops like EB who buy them cheap then sell again close to retail and are ripping off the game designers by you wanting that disc. I personally cant wait to get my pre order PS4 pro. The only down side for me is the Hard drive is only 1tb where it should be min 2tb for the gamers like me that support the playstation store and game designers by buying online digital titles. And yes I game share with my son in the same house, if some one else wants to play that game I say buy it yourself dont borrow mine as I want to play it. Sorry for the rant.

This looks like a good step in the right direction but are we going to be getting any game bundles for this system- A Battlefield 1 or COD bundle with PS4 Pro games included would be nice. Might have to wait for a 2TB version though. 1Tb is a bit slim ;)

First off, it looks great and all, however Sony has made one fatal flaw mistake and it is to support the 4k Pro both functioning and properly as well. But i know Sony will fix the problem issues before the release date. Needless to say that i hope i see potential for this 4K Pro console.

Not worth the upgrade unless you have the new HDR TVS not all 4k tvs do. I love my ps4 but bought a xbox one S for a 4k blu ray player and works great for that and its cheap.
