PlayStation 3 40GB Console previews

Good thing I bought the 60GB PS3…this model is great value for money. The hard drive can be upgraded and I will just import the Dual Shock 3 controller from Japan :D

WARNING: The new 40 GB model has had ALL PS2 software back compatibility REMOVED, it also has had the Card readers removed and only has 2 USB ports.

I suggest you get an 80 Gb unit from the US or Japan, or try to find a 60 GB model if you are about PS2 back compatibility see here http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?… .

Another option is to wait until march 2008 when the HDTV recorder comes out, I am sure by then sony will have a new model out that has a much larger hard drive and rumble sixaxis (which has been announced to come out in japan in November and the rest of the world in February)

for the guy below, who cares about backwards compatibility!? seriously if you have a PS2 then play your PS2 games on there, and if your just buying a PS3 and DONT have any PS2 games then it doesnt matter, this is a great deal for $799.99 you get a sixaxis wireless controller,blu-ray drive,wifi,2 USB ports and bluetooth so yea
