A serious movie laced with humour, exposing unethical practices in some mental institutions in days gone by and perhaps present day too. Jack Nicholson, in the main role truly deserved his Academy Award.

Dated now, but a film everybody should watch to see Nurse Ratshit(!) in action.
Brilliant casting and realistic setting make this one of the strongest movies I have ever seen. You don't pause this one to make a cup of tea!
This is one of those movies that will make you think twice about the world around you; in this case about people who inhabit mental institutions. A great story, great acting, and one of the most moving and unforgettable endings you will ever see, this is definitely worth a watch.
