Description

This new translation of John Calvin’s classic work On the Christian Life helps pastors, students, scholars, and everyday Christians answer the fundamental question: What does it mean to live faithfully as a Christian?

Author Biography:

John Calvin (1509–1564) was one of the most influential theologians of the Reformation. Known best for his Institutes of the Christian Religion, he also wrote landmark expositions on most of the books in the Bible.  Raymond A. Blacketer (PhD, Calvin Theological Seminary) has written several articles on Calvin and later Reformed theology and is a contributor to From Heaven He Came and Sought Her and Ruined Sinners to Reclaim. Blacketer is a scholar of the Reformation and an ordained pastor who has served congregations in Alberta, Canada, and West Michigan. He has also taught classes at both Fuller Theological Seminary and Western Theological Seminary. Anthony N. S. Lane (DD, University of Oxford) is professor of historical doctrine at the London School of Theology. He is the author of numerous books, including Exploring Christian Doctrine and A Concise History of Christian Thought.
