The new 3DS XL is what the 3DS should've been in the first place : smooth interface, better 3D screens, better processor, better download speed slim form factor, built-in NFC, dual analog+ZR/ZL.

The 3DS Only got better and I have no regrets with this purchase.

This is a great system. The 3DS was super before, but with a few tweeks and added bells and whistles this system is even better. Also great service from MightyApe. Answered all my questions and shipped in good time.

I wanted to replace my old 3DS XL specifically for it's exclusive titles, but a major feature that made this a superior console for me is it's super stable 3D. I struggled so much to keep the 3D in focus and sit comfortably on the old console that it was rendered a useless gimmick to me, now I can use the 3D feature no matter how I hold it or how I sit or move. The only downside is the new button placement and memory card. You have to detach the back to switch out memory cards and the power button and game card slot are now on the front of the console making it awkward to hold, at least for me. It also doesn't come with a charging cord, luckily for me I had a spare and a USB charger. You can pick up a USB charger for around $2 if buying a new charger is really an issue price wise. Despite this, I'm thrilled with the upgrades and think it truly is superior and worth the switch.

Nintendo strikes again!

I was excited about buying one of these, My boyfriend had me all hyped up about how great they were, so I decided to buy one. First thing I noticed was there is no charger included in the box. After a bit of searching around on the internet, I found out that Nintendo had decided to sell them without chargers, Meaning id have to pay another $25 for a charger and wait a few days for it to arrive, or a week in this case as MightyApe was out of stock. I decided to power it up anyway and try out one of the games I tried.

The 3D mode requires complete stillness of the device, Otherwise you will see flickering effects that did begin to hurt my eyes after a while. Two months later, While writing this review, I don't even use the 3D mode anymore.

Since I had no charger, I thought id still get at least 5–6 hours out of it before it died. It lasted 2 hours before I was greeted by a black screen.

I went off to the store to look for the charger for these “amazing” devices, But had no luck with the first one. Out of stock. I purchased this around Christmas, So i'm not surprised if other people were finding out it didn't come with an adapter and going to the local video game shop to buy one. I spent two hours driving around before I found a shop that had two left in stock.

Now that I had a charger, I could explore a few more of the features. First thing I noticed was a very “windows 8” like update system, Locking you out of apps unless you update to the newest system version. I didn't like this.

Secondly, There is a bunch of apps to choose from in the nintendo store…all of them cost. A lot. You can't even get a calculator for free.

The device has a music and video player, Yet you can't download files from the device, You must plug it into a computer.....which requires another cord that you must go and buy.

I didn't bother. I only really use this during bathroom breaks or when I'm waiting at the bus stop. Massive disappointment.

I don't recommend buying this.

I bought this thing to play Pokemon on and its definitely the best way to play Pokemon, the 3D is soooooo much better than the original 3DS I never turn it off! 5/5 would bang.

Lovely big screen, better touch functions, less headaches from using 3D and easier to see everything! Love the new virtual console feature too.

I usually get a headache from 3D,Nintendo 3DS does not do this, have ordered 8 games as it doesn’t give me a headache at all!! Games are cool, device has good battery life and it just works! The 3D moves to your moves, it really does track eye contact! I was a big fan of wii and am def getting a switch! Go Nintendo!!

I ordered this around 2–3pm on a Friday, at it arrived before I woke up at 8.40am on the Saturday morning! The 3DS is impeccable, brilliant build, so much faster and better quality than my old original 3DS. The free game is also great for passing time (though I would recommend buying another game along with it if you do not have another games). Very impressed MightyApe, will be raving about you to all my friends!

This is the first 3DS that I get, so I can't compare it to the old version. The console is great, but the up screen scratches pretty easily. I suggest getting screen films.

I haven't used a Nintendo DS for about five years, so this has been an amazing play so far. It's much more comfortable than the smaller sizes, the controls have become so much better and the 3D is amazing! I have to have it on a low setting because I get motion sick sometimes, but it's still awesome to see. The additional L-R/ZL-ZR are awesome too, and the guides to using the controls explain it as well. The volume slider is also useful, something I would've loved in the older models. The location of the stylus I'm not a fan of, but I'm not fussed about it. I was sad about the delivery though (over a week to come), but I understand with the time of year. The pedometer is also a nice feature, as I'm trying to get fit myself and it's nice for counting steps (don't know how accurate it is). It's sad that they don't include a charger, but it's also understandable because every time I buy a new phone I end up with too many chargers. All over, it's a good system, definitely suggest over older, smaller models.

The Nintendo DS range has improved greatly over the years, and the New 3DS is a superb console. The 3D is very cool and stable, it isn't just about images popping out of the screen, but also a perceived depth as though objects are really in the distance.

Metallic Black is a nice colour. The outside of the case isn't just black gloss, it has faint lined pattern that is similar to a carbon fibre effect.

Best portable game console I've ever brought
