Jason Elliot is a superb detailed writer who has a close understanding of the large and complex country that is Iran from both an historical and a modern perspective. He has obviously spent a lot of time there and is very descriptive in the language that he uses.This is not a book for browsing but one for savoring the minute and colorful pictures that he draws of the country, its poeple and its architecture.
